Group has acted for and advised both local and foreign clients in
cross-border investments, Financial Products & Services, M&A (Merger & Acquisition), Capital Markets, Private Equity, Corporate
and Commercial matters.
Since our beginnings more than 20 years ago, our corporate and
commercial law practice ¡V in particular matters related to cross-border
investments, banking, financial products & services, licensing
& regulatory approvals ¡V has always been our core strength.
Our services range from corporate re-structuring, commercial &
corporate matters, fund launching, compliance and regulatory matters.
We act as the legal counsel for many local and foreign companies
engaged in various businesses ranging from financial products &
services, hi-tech manufacturing, trading, satellite broadcast, pharmaceuticals
and consumer products.
We advise on incoming and outgoing international investment to
Taiwan, which ranges from small & medium-sized enterprises to
complex cross-border joint ventures. We aim to provide creative
and practical legal solutions that match our clients' business goals;
and we continue to provide long-term services to our clients' post-investment
operations.
Some of the companies we have advised include many leading multinationals
from the U.K., U.S., the European Union and Asia-Pacific that are engaged in various sectors ranging from financial services,
merchant & private banking, insurance, hi-tech manufacturing.
In addition, we provide services on the following matters:
- Acted for a telecommunications co. in structuring its Cayman
holding co., for investment via subsidiaries in San Diego, PRC,
S.Korea, Hong Kong, Brazil. Also advised on its management and
operational matters, technology & CDMA licenses, marketing,
R&D and investment projects.
- Advised ODM/OEM Clients on various hi-tech manufacturing contracts
(Computer hardware, keyboards, acquisition of logic chips, patents,
etc); IP and associated matters.
- Advised on an IPP-IGCC project (Independent Power Plant-Integrated
Gasification Combined-cycle) in Taiwan whereby we had cooperated
with specialists participants such as a major American energy
multinational, a Venezuelan public enterprise fuel supplier, and
a Japanese engineering company.
- Structured and advised various corporate entities in Taiwan,
which engaged in business ranging from logistics & warehousing;
internet services; risk management services; OEM/ODM manufacturing.
- Acted as legal counsel for a U.K. financial data services co.,
and assisted it from the initial planning stage, and of its presence
in Taiwan. In particular we assisted the company in its incorporation
and corporate re-structuring in Taiwan. We also successfully obtained
regulatory approval for the company's satellite broadcasting and
online financial data services.
- Advised ODM/OEM Clients on various hi-tech manufacturing
contracts (computer hardware, hi-tech equipment, acquisition of
logic chips, patents, etc); IP and associated matters.
- Served as legal counsel to a Singapore entertainment company advised on the satellite broadcasting licensing (submission
(filing and successfully obtained license grant) for its satellite
channels.
- Acted for several record/music entertainment companies, most
notably leading record companies, including preparing, filing
and registration of IP (copyright, trademark/service mark, infringement,
litigation, etc).
